Cosmo Run 2015 – Giving back The Cosmo Team’s dream was to make a difference in the community with the money raised with the Fun Run and Walk. Groot FM and Cosmo gave the money raised through the Cosmo Run 2015 to the Derdepoort Development centre. The Alki Beach Sunset Run is a fun themed 5K Run/Walk that all are welcome to participate in. The event will feature a 5K run/walk starting on the shores of Alki Beach near the Alki Beach Bathhouse, taking runners east on Alki Ave before turning around and returning along the Alki Beach bike path and water-front promenade.

The Cosmo Run was initiated in 2014 and became Cosmo’s annual event where Cosmo would like to give back to the community, what is sometimes so easily taken for granted.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Seattle Special Events Committee will not be issuing special event permits through at least October 31, 2020. Because of this, the Alki Beach Sunset Run will not be receiving an event permit in 2020. Unfortunately, we have had to make the hard decision to postpone the event in 2020.

Join us Saturday, August 22 at the beach for the Alki Beach Sunset Run! Experience views of the Seattle skyline, cool beach breeze and sounds of the sea as you chase the Seattle sunset. After completing your 5K, celebrate with us as we party on the beach! Once you cross the finish line, you’ll be greeted with a sunset after-party including a live DJ, giveaways and Tito’s Vodka refreshments for all. Bring your friends and start your weekend off right with the Alki Beach Sunset Run!

PACKET PICKUP & DAY OF REGISTRATION
At this time, only day of race packet pickup will be offered. Packet pickup will be available starting at 4:30pm at the event start/finish line (near Alki Beach Bath House) and last until the start of the run at 6:00pm. During this same timeframe, you will also be allowed to register if you haven’t done so ahead of time for $45.

Course Description & Map
The Alki Beach Sunset Run 5K course is a scenic out & back along Alki Ave taking in the breathtaking scenery as you run east towards the Seattle skyline before turning around near Luna Park. On your return run west towards Alki Beach, your focus will be on Elliott Bay, the Seattle Ferry Boats, Cascade Mountains and gorgeous Seattle sunset. This course is flat and fast; you’ll be at the finish line before you realize you’ve made the turnaround! Course map below
Parking & Travel
Parking for the event will be located along the side streets running perpendicular to Alki Ave. Please follow and obey all no-parking signs as all of Alki Ave will be no-parked to allow participants the ability to run along the full width of the road. Arrive early, the later you arrive the further away you’ll need to park.
Is this Race 21+ Only? – Nope! All ages are welcome to participate in either of the event categories, but the Tito’s Vodka Garden and alcoholic drinks will be for 21+ only. There will be non-alcoholic drinks available as well for everyone. Remember your ID, we card everyone.
Is there a time limit? Yes – Due to City of Seattle rules and restrictions all roadways will need to be reopened in 1 hour from the start of the race. If participants are still on course after the 1-hour time limit we will ask you to move to the Alki Beach bike path to allow vehicles access. This means participants will need to be back to the finish line at 7:00pm.
Can someone other than me pick up my race packet? Yes – but with no prior pick up options, we hope you come have fun with us!
Where do I leave my “stuff” while participating? We will have a gear check tent located near the start line. Race crew & volunteers are not responsible for lost/stolen merchandise. Please leave valuables in your car.
Event Shirts, What are they? All participants will receive a gender specific tank top.
Are Strollers/Baby Joggers allowed? Yes – We just ask you to start to the side or back of the pack to not interfere with other participants. They will not be allowed in the Tito’s Vodka garden after.
How bout dogs/pets? We ask you to please leave your furry friends at home.
Cancellation Policy – Registration fees are non-refundable. We will offer deferrals to the next year or transfer your race entry to a friend. If you are interested in a deferral or transfer, please email us at: info@fizzeventsnw.com
