Noted for her unique style of music, great stage presence, and creativity, Kaycee Clark is striving to make her mark in the jazz scene. Bay Area multi-reedist, Kaycee Clark is a clarinetist, saxophonist, performer, teacher, and composer. Passionate, driven, and expressive, she wants to share her love with music with people all around the world. Kaycee is currently a senior at the University of the Pacific pursuing a career in jazz studies with an emphasis on the clarinet. She has performed at various jazz festivals receiving outstanding musicianship awards and top scores with big bands. These festivals include Santa Cruz, Brentwood, Stockton, and Reno. She also performed at Carnegie Hall with the Symphonic Wind ensemble as the headliner. She has performed with the Pittsburg Big Band, Brentwood Big Band, Lodi Big Band, Night Notes, and The Chromatics. Kaycee was the recipient of the United States Navy outstanding musicianship award in 2014, outstanding soloist in 2017, and the Louis Armstrong award in 2017. Kayce has collaborated with numerous notable jazz musicians including Gregory Tardy, Ingrid Jensen, Joe Mazzaferro, Dee Daniels, Carl Allen, and Mark Zaleski. Along with this she has been a camp counselor, marketing intern, and sales associate for the Brubeck institute, Pacifics jazz program, and Take Five Jazz Club. She recently participated in a masterclass with the well-known jazz clarinetist, Anat Cohen. Kaycee is currently working on composing and arranging music in the genre of chorro and latin music. She hopes to perform these pieces at her Senior Recital in April 2021. She is also currently studying the music of John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, and Anat Cohen.
